We make the world’s lowest carbon intensity leather, at 0kg of
CO2e per hide
We've achieved net zero across Scope 1 and 2 emissions. This not only reduces our own impact but supports our automotive customers as they work towards their own decarbonisation goals.
A shift to circular manufacturing
and Life Cycle Analysis.
We have everything on our doorstep. The mild Scottish climate, the finest rawhides, even water from our own loch. As part of Scottish Leather Group, we’re known for our industry-leading circular manufacturing process, because we want nothing to go to waste. In developing our own renewably driven self-heating system, we have already reduced the amount of waste sent to landfill by 100%. This zero waste to landfill milestone helped us achieve our zero process waste target.
Reducing Carbon Intensity
Converting waste into energy, as well as using renewable wind and PV-derived electricity, has dramatically reduced the carbon intensity measured as carbon dioxide equivalent of our leather. Since 2003, we have significantly reduced the carbon intensity of our leather per hide from 10.9kg CO2e to zero.
Keeping an eye on bigger picture targets is what we do best. In the UK, the government wants all cars to be electric by 2035 - and we want those interiors to feature the most sustainably produced, fine automotive leather.
